Terms of Service
1. Using Salonhop
Salonhop is a salon-booking platform for India. It runs this website and the Salonhop and Salonhop Partner apps. These terms apply every time you browse a salon, make a booking, or manage one in the app — whether or not you have an account.
This is a draft. It does not yet name the company that operates Salonhop, the law that governs it, or a grievance officer — those are being prepared. Until they are here, read this page as a description of how the product works.
To book you need an account and a mobile number you control. We verify the number by sending a one-time password to it, and the salon uses it to reach you on the day. Keep your details accurate for that reason and no other.
2. Bookings, cancellations and no-shows
A booking made through Salonhop is an appointment with the salon, not with us. We pass your name, your mobile number and the services you selected to that salon so they can prepare for your visit. The salon decides who performs the service, and its own house rules apply once you arrive.
- Each salon sets its own free-cancellation window — 24 hours by default. We show you that deadline, and any fee, before you confirm a cancellation.
- We do not charge a fee to move a booking. You can move it yourself up to a cut-off the salon sets, as long as the salon has an open slot, and a reschedule keeps the same professional.
- If you do not turn up, the salon may charge a no-show fee it has set. It is not shown to you when you book today — you will see it on the booking’s receipt — and it is the reason cancelling, even late, is better than not coming.
A salon can also offer you a different time. You accept or decline it in the app; accepting moves the booking, and nothing changes until you do.
If a salon cancels on you we tell you as soon as they do. You are never charged for a booking a salon cancels.
3. Prices and payment
You pay at the salon. That is the only kind of payment Salonhop has — there is no checkout on this platform, and nothing to settle with us.
The price you see when you book is the price the salon has set. We recompute it on our servers when the booking is written, so what the salon charges and what you were shown are the same number.
We do not take or hold your card details. There is no money of yours in our hands at any point, so there is nothing for us to return; whatever you paid, you paid to the salon, and the salon settles it with you.
4. Reviews and messages
You can review a salon after a booking you completed there. The app opens the review from the booking itself, and there is no other way in — every review on Salonhop is attached to a visit that happened.
You can post a review without your name on it. It is then shown as “A verified client” — the salon and Salonhop still know it is yours, because a review is tied to the booking that earned it and to your account for moderation.
You can change or delete a review you wrote, from My reviews in the app. A salon cannot delete your review; it can reply to it in public. We can hide or remove a review that breaks these terms, and an administrator’s action is recorded.
Messages you send a salon in the app are read by that salon’s team — they are not private to one person there, and they are not encrypted end to end.
5. Your account and your data
Browsing salons needs no account. Booking, reviewing, messaging a salon and reading your notifications do.
When you book, the salon you booked with gets a client record for you: your name, your mobile number, the services you chose and your history of visits to that salon. That record belongs to that salon and is not shared with other salons.
The Privacy Policy is the full account of what is collected, where it is stored and what you can ask us to do with it.
6. Changes and contact
We change these terms as the product changes. The version and the date at the top of this page are the record of that: if they have moved since you last read this, the document has. Nothing pushes you a notice when it does.
If something here does not match what the app does, the app is the thing that is wrong and we want to hear about it. Write to support@salonhop.com.
7. If you run a salon on Salonhop
This section is for the salon side. Your team agrees to it when you create a Salonhop Partner account.
- Every appointment is between your salon and the client. Salonhop passes you the booking and the client’s details; the service, the price and the house rules are yours.
- You set your own free-cancellation window, your cancellation-fee percentage and your no-show-fee percentage. The cancellation numbers are shown to the client before they confirm a cancellation.
- A cancellation your salon makes never charges the client.
- Only an owner or a manager can reply to a review, and a reply is public.
- A salon account is checked by us before it goes live. Until it is approved it cannot take bookings.
- Platform administrators can hide or remove a review, and the action is recorded.
There are no commercial terms on this page — no platform fee, no payout schedule, no termination clause. Salonhop does not have them yet, and this draft does not invent them.
